Suppliers of Direct Micro Expelling Equipment:
“Empowering and bringing hope”
We invented the Direct Micro Expelling (DME) technology in 1994 to take coconut processing back to the farms where the nuts are grown. Here families are able to produce DME Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (DME-EVCO) within one hour of opening a coconut. The oil is perfectly natural, organic, of mild flavour and aroma — it is simply brilliant! Taste the difference!
Empowering & Bringing Hope
In most situations, people want to work and they have plenty of nuts. Now they have a way of turning those nuts into very pure, natural, virgin oil within one hour of opening a coconut.
Kokonut Pacific is working hard with remote coastal communities, non-government organisations (NGOs) and governments to make sure that the right support systems are in place.
The capacity of remote communities to produce DME® extra virgin coconut oil (VCO) is often far greater than the local market can absorb. For the dream of regular employment to be realised, other markets have to be found. Because most of the oil has to be exported, this requires organisation for quality control, storage, transport, bulking up and finding buyers. In many cases, these buyers are in other countries so the oil has to be carefully packed and shipped overseas.
We work with our country partners and international accreditation agencies to ensure that our entire operation, from the traditional tall palms to final packaging of the oil, is guaranteed to be of the highest standard.
Our DME® oil, produced in the Solomon Islands is Certified Organic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture, Australia (NASAA). Becoming “Certified Organic” is a great encouragement to the producers and assures customers of the quality of the oil.
In addition, from the start, we have adopted Full and Fair Trade principles and “triple bottom line” principles (demonstrating care for people, the planet and profitability).
Since 1994 Kokonut Pacific has been educating people about the true benefits of coconut oil. We’ve brought together small producers in developing countries and discerning consumers from developed countries in a mutually beneficial relationship. More people in more places are now benefiting from the tree of life.
Thanks to the sales of DME® equipment and Niulife products, Kokonut Pacific set up the Niulife Foundation, a charitable foundation, to take our social enterprise mission Empowering and Bringing Hope to the next level.
The Niulife Foundation’s first project in 2014-15 was to oversee the establishment of the Coconut Technology Centre in the Solomon Islands, in the heart of a complex entirely dedicated to coconut - fondly known by the Kokonut Pacific team as the Coconut Campus. The Foundation is very happy to receive donations from the public so please consider whether you would like to support the CTC as it helps farmers become self-sufficient and not reliant on hand-outs.
